Quantitative analysis is the process of studying using statistical data and other quantifiable metrics that can be measured explicitly by performance in some way.

Typical areas of interest for evaluations include opex, revenue reports, profit margins, funding sources, and more. Traders and investors will utilize various mathematical tools and formulas to reach a realistic value on any asset considered before taking a position.

In cryptocurrencies, these metrics would look at the cost of producing each BTC, energy prices by region, the number of transactions, transaction value, hash rate, mining difficulty, and more.
