Grimace Coin, the crypto-token created following a twitter exchange between Tesla founder, Elon Musk, and popular fast food chain McDonald’s, reported a record surge of over 285,000% within 48 hours of its creation. The twitter exchange spurred the creation of at least 8 grimace coins on the Binance Smart Chain network alone.
The Birth of Grimace Coin
“I will eat a happy meal on TV if @McDonalds accept Dogecoin,” read a tweet posted on Elon Musk’s official twitter handle. “Only if Tesla accepts grimacecoin,” responded McDonald’s. This fun twitter exchange birthed yet another token into the metaverse, grimacecoin, which before then was just a purple mascot fashioned after a taste bud.
Grimace Coin was created on the Binance Smart Chain shortly after the twitter interaction and within a few hours its price soared by a 6000% margin.

In just a span of 7 hours 20 minutes. Grimace coin had sold 1000 NFTs 0.3 BNB each. 20% of the generated earning were donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. On 16th of January, only 4 days after its NFT launch, Grimace Coin NFT collection was ranking on the second spot on TofuNFT.com with a volume of $68,600.
