UDINE, ITALY – March 25, 2023 – Today, OVER, the premier augmented reality metaverse platform released its Metaverse Fashion Week schedule. Featuring a host of pioneering digital couture brands, alongside traditional fashion houses, OVER’s event is a highlight of the second annual festival, co-hosted by virtual worlds Decentraland and Spatial.
On March 31st, OVER will occupy a prime location in Milan’s Piazza del Duomo to stage a unique hybrid fashion show. Under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan, the virtual catwalk will showcase designs from new and traditional fashion brands – modeled by digital avatars appearing in the physical world, via OVER’s augmented reality app.

OVER’s other major initiative at MVFW is the first-ever cross-metaverse creator contest, which sees fashion designers compete to create digital avatar wearables that are interoperable across OVER and Decentraland. Five winners will share in $10k USD worth of OVR tokens, and have their creations showcased at a special event in the OVER ecosystem on March 28th, starring globally-renowned DJ Regard.
Speaking about OVER’s fashion week initiatives, COO and co-founder, Diego Di Tommaso said, “Community is at the heart of the OVER metaverse experience and so to give a new breed of digital creators the chance to showcase their work alongside major fashion brands is a dream come true. Opportunities like these happen rarely if ever in the real world, so it’s a privilege for OVER to be able to use our augmented reality metaverse to empower the next generation of designers, stylists, curators and technologists.”
“Fashion was one of the first industries to recognize the incredible potential of the metaverse and Web3,” says CEO and co-founder, Davide Cuttini. “That’s because the metaverse makes sense for so many areas of fashion – from design through to retail. Where OVER is unique is in the way we use augmented reality to merge the virtual and physical. This presents huge opportunities for brands, designers and retailers to reach consumers anywhere at any time. No need to be in front of a computer trying to navigate your way through a virtual world. We bring the metaverse and virtual fashion directly to consumers in the real world, via their smart devices. We believe this is a game changer for fashion and we look forward to showcasing it to the industry in Milan.”
To enjoy the party on 28th March, simply download the OVER app (for Android or iOS), click on the banner and be transported to the festivities.
