A bitcoin expo is taking place at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on the 3rd of May, the MIT Bitcoin Club reminded users in a Tweet Wednesday afternoon.
The MIT Bitcoin Expo will take place at Stata Center 32-123 from 11AM through 6PM and features Gavin Andresen as one of the headline speakers that day.
Other speakers include Sean Neville (co-founder and Chief Technology Officer), James D’Angelo (host of World Bitcoin Network and former NASA design engineer), Dan Elitzer (founder and President of the MIT Bitcoin Club).
According to the event’s website, the event will first cover bitcoin basics. How it works and what it is.
[blockquote style=”2″]Then, we’ll hear perspectives from leading academics and professionals, illuminating why Bitcoin and cyptocurrencies represent one of most exciting developments in decades across the fields of cryptography, distributed computing, graph theory, finance, and economics.[/blockquote]
Following the speakers, the event will morph into “workshop mode”, in which “expert practitioners will introduce [attendees] to tools for interacting with the code that lies at the heart of Bitcoin.”
