Brazil’s self-proclaimed “most reliable” digital currency exchange will debut a new product that’s sure to make a splash amongst bitcoin enthusiasts in the country.
Dubbed the Coincard, what we’re looking at is a pre-paid MasterCard that can be charged up with bitcoins. This will effectively allow bitcoin users in the country to spend their bits at any location that accepts MasterCard (and let’s be honest, a lot of places do).
It’s pretty much an enthusiast’s best friend, especially in the next few months, with the coming of the next World Cup and all.
New users are able to register and fund their cards via the Coincard website, and the company will ship the card to most places in the world.
What this means for the slew of travelers coming into the country for the games is no hassle, and no exchange rates to worry about.
Interestingly, the company has neglected to talk about fees, stating that more information on that front will become available upon launch. That date has not been released.
It’s a similar concept to the Cryptex Card just announced this week, which serves as a bitcoin-to-cash ATM/payment card.
