It’s the day after Thanksgiving, and here in the United States that means it’s Black Friday — the biggest shopping day of the year. And while the vast majority of users will be paying for their items in cash and credit cards, the folks using bitcoin haven’t been left out.
Bitcoin Black Friday is in full swing, and users of the digital currency have the opportunity to get fantastic discounts online. What’s better is the fact that this expands beyond the borders of the United States, including the international community in this shopping holiday unlike any other.
Last year, Bitcoin Black Friday was considered to be a pretty big success, and this year, things are on track to put last year’s sales figures to shame, it seems.
Electronics retailer Newegg is offering select deals for customers who choose to pay in bitcoin, as is domain name registrar Namecheap, who’s offering a 20% bonus for customers who load up their account funds beyond 0.1 BTC.
All-around, there are some good deals to take advantage of, but there’s no denying that the best deals available today are still available via traditional means.
Bitcoin is, of course, still considered to be in its infancy, so it will be interesting to see how this Bitcoin Black Friday shopping event transforms over the next few years.
Have you picked up anything today with bitcoin? If so, what did you get?
