ValidatorInfo Launches in Alpha as Web3 Open-Source Explorer Focused on Validators and Mining Pools

ValidatorInfo, a new open-source multichain validator explorer, has launched in alpha. The platform serves as a comprehensive and transparent hub with a user-friendly dashboard for exploring data on validators and mining pools. It aggregates verifiable on-chain metrics, user interactions, social data, and public good contributions. Currently, the service is available in its desktop version, while the mobile one is still under development.

All data provided is fully on-chain and can be independently verified by anyone. Inspired by the collaborative model of platforms like Wikipedia, users can log in to add or update validator and mining pool information, provide verifiable data to challenge inaccuracies, and suggest edits. Validators and mining pools can also claim edits of their profiles. By offering accurate tools like staking calculators and detailed data analysis, ValidatorInfo simplifies the often complex landscape of staking and mining, helping users find efficient ways to allocate capital.

The platform was developed by Citizen Web3, a blockchain-agnostic project launched in 2020. Citizen Web3 describes itself as a decentralized infrastructure provider, focusing on noncustodial solutions and serving as a validator across the blockchain space.

The interface of ValidatorInfo resembles the style of 1980s pixel art games – minimalistic, clear, and free of unnecessary elements. Its simplicity ensures ease of use, allowing users to focus on the essential data.

The service speaks directly to its users in a personable tone:

«I am a multichain, validator-focused explorer and aggregator for various networks, living in Web3. I can read and understand both Proof of Work and Proof of Stake chains. This means I will show you information about validators, mining pools, and the networks themselves.»

This engaging approach blends functionality with personality, creating a gamified user experience while delivering critical insights.

Users can explore a detailed list of validators and mining pools, organized alphabetically with key metrics and links, as well as get access to additional tools like staking calculators, validator comparisons, and a rumors chat.

ValidatorInfo’s staking calculator sets itself apart by incorporating a broader range of parameters beyond standard metrics like APR, APY, and commissions. It also accounts for critical factors such as slashing events, jail time, and additional provider revenue, offering a more comprehensive and precise calculation. The tool allows users to calculate staking income for specific tokens, durations, and networks, as well as assess returns from both staking and mining. Validator comparison features, which analyze uptime and revenue trends, help users identify the most efficient operators and make informed decisions.

Additionally, ValidatorInfo introduces five key scores — technical, social, governance, user score, and an aggregated main score called The Battery — to provide a real-time, comprehensive assessment of validators and mining pools. These scores are derived from verifiable on-chain data, social metrics, governance activity, and user interactions, such as on-chain reviews submitted directly through the app. The Battery, as the primary metric, combines these factors to offer a clear and dynamic snapshot of a validator’s or mining pool’s overall health. This live metric can serve as a valuable tool for networks, DeFi applications, blockchain explorers, and other services seeking reliable and transparent insights into validator and mining pool performance.

ValidatorInfo will attempt to maximize retention tools, remain open source and free, dev team promises in its Github repository.

ValidatorInfo is set to introduce powerful new features that further enhance its functionality as a multichain validator and mining pool explorer. The app plans to integrate an AI-powered search tool, allowing users to receive answers on highly specific and random queries, such as: “Show me 3 validators from Ethereum, Cosmos, and Polkadot with X commission, liberal political opinions, and over 5,000 Twitter followers.” Additionally, ValidatorInfo will prioritize user interaction and real-time global insights. The dashboard will feature real-time global metrics and showcase live Web3 data, including hundreds of data points like user sentiment, chain health status, and a decentralization heat map, offering a dynamic snapshot of the whole Web3 ecosystem.
